What it does

Everything your drives
have been missing.

Plug in a drive. DriveDash reads its names, paths, sizes, and dates — nothing else. No file contents ever opened. No internet required.

💾
Persistent Drive Identity
Every drive gets a permanent label — A, B, C — based on its hardware serial number. The same drive always has the same label, even if your OS assigns it a different letter next time.
🔍
Cross-Drive Duplicate Finder
Finds files that exist more than once across all your drives. Marks the newest copy automatically. Send duplicates to the Recycle Bin with one confirmation click.
🗺
Merge Advisor
Compares folder structures across two or more drives. Shows similarity scores, shared files, and unique files side by side. Recommends what to consolidate and where.
📊
Visual Analytics
File type breakdown, storage usage per drive, and a timeline of when your files were last modified. Know which drives hold archives and which hold active work.
📄
Export Reports
Generate a full PDF or CSV of any drive or your entire collection — summaries, largest files, duplicate groups — in one document.
Safe Eject
Uses the same OS API as Safely Remove Hardware. Drives power down correctly. Your last-scan index stays visible even after unplugging.
How it works

Plug in. Scan. Know everything.

01
Plug in your drive
DriveDash detects it within 5 seconds and assigns it a permanent label based on its serial number.
02
Scan it
One click reads every file name, path, size, and date. No file contents opened. A 1TB drive takes under 60 seconds.
03
Add more drives
Plug in the next drive and scan it. DriveDash builds a unified index — search, browse, and compare everything at once.
04
Free up space
Find duplicates. Review suggestions. Send files to the Recycle Bin — never permanently deleted — and recover the space.
Why DriveDash

Nothing else does all of this.

The short version

DriveDash does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data. Everything stays on your computer. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no analytics.

What DriveDash reads

When you scan a drive, DriveDash reads the following metadata from your file system:

DriveDash never reads file contents. No images are opened, no documents are read, no video files are accessed. Only the metadata listed above is used.

Where your data goes

Nowhere. All scan data is held in memory for the duration of the app session. When you close DriveDash, the scan data is discarded. The only file written to disk is registry.json, which stores your drive labels and nicknames — nothing else.

DriveDash does not connect to the internet. It does not send analytics, crash reports, or usage data to any server.

File deletion

When you use DriveDash to remove duplicate files, those files are sent to your operating system's Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (macOS). They are not permanently deleted. You can restore them at any time from your system trash.

DriveDash always shows a confirmation dialog listing the exact files before any removal action. Nothing is removed automatically.

Third-party services

DriveDash does not use any third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics platforms.

Children's privacy

DriveDash does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
